Fake currency racket busted, 3 arrested

JAISALMER: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan police on Tuesday arrested three smugglers at Jaisalmer border in Phalodi area and recovered counterfeit bank notes of denominations Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 500 having a face value of Rs 96,000.
The consignment was to be delivered to a smuggler at Loharki village under Ramdeora police station area in Jaisalmer. Police are currently grilling the smugglers.
SOG & ATS ADG Anil Paliwal said the operation was carried out following a tip-off about smuggling of fake currency notes in border areas. He said a team was formed under the leadership of additional SP Gajendra Singh Jodha and sent to the spot.
An informer told the team about two bike-borne persons ferrying the fake notes to Pokhran in Jaisalmer.
As soon as the two persons were spotted, the team members stopped the bike and began inquiries. They identified themselves as Hadmana Ram Vishnoi (24), a resident of Jambeshwar Nagar in Lohawat police station area, and Sunil Vishnoi (25), a resident of Sanwarij under Phalodi police station area in Jodhpur district.

Paliwal said Ayub Khan (25), a resident of Loharki under Ramdeora police station area, who was supposed to receive the consignment, was arrested from Pokhran.
All the three are being grilled to find out the source of the fake currency and other members of the gang. A case has been lodged at SOG police station.
