Winner takes it all! Former Today show host Karl Stefanovic emerges $820 richer after placing a VERY clever winning bet on State of Origin

He may have been supporting Queensland, but Karl Stefanovic was still celebrating after the State of Origin on Wednesday.

Despite his team losing, the 44-year-old former Today host emerged victorious after placing a winning bet on the highly watched rugby league match.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Karl revealed he had won $820 after betting Queenslander Felise Kaufusi would be the first tryscorer.

Karl shared a photo of his phone screen displaying his winning bet, and scored it to P.I.M.P. by 50 Cent.

Clearly excited, he also included GIFs of a dancing animated flamingo and a Queenslander flexing his bicep.

But despite Karl scoring big, it was ultimately New South Wales who won the match.
