Angelica Ross, the Pose actress whose character Candy recently floated up to the great lip-sync battle in the sky, didn't stay out of work too long: On Wednesday, she announced on Twitter that she's joined the cast of American Horror Story: 1984.
"I am ELATED to make history as the first trans actor to secure 2 series regular roles," she wrote, "leaping from #PoseFX to #AHS1984." Thanking her boss Ryan Murphy, who turned her death on Pose into one of the most powerful TV episodes of the year, Ross said she was "honored and excited" to join the AHS family.

— Angelica Ross (@angelicaross) July 10, 2019This is exciting news for AHS fans. Given Ross' spunk and fighting spirit on Pose, it's hard to imagine her character as anything but another tough, spirited woman within the AHS universe. And for fans of Pose, which employed the largest number of trans people ever, they'll be happy to know Angelica Ross got another job -- and an incredibly buzzy one at that! No word yet on who exactly Ross be playing in 1984 -- perhaps she'll face off with Emma Roberts, or maybe she'll play a a Final Girl?
American Horror Story: 1984 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 10/9c on FX.
