Met predicts heavy rain in next 24 hours in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: The city received 50mm rainfall on Tuesday bringing respite to residents from hot and humid weather. The Chandigarh airport observatory also recorded heavy rainfall of 79mm.
According to the Chandigarh Met department, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected on Wednesday as well. The rain on Tuesday morning brought the day temperature down visibly in the city. The maximum temperature was recorded at 31.8 degrees, 3 degrees below normal while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees, 3 degrees above normal. The city also witnessed a slight drop in day temperature on Monday following 29.1mm rainfall in the afternoon. For Wednesday, weathermen have given a forecast of generally cloudy sky with rain and thundershowers.
