AGRA: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Shikohabad police jurisdiction of Firozabad district in UP.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning, after the girl’s parents left for glass factory where they work as daily wage labour. Based on the victim’s parent's written complaint, on Wednesday, Shikohabad police lodged an FIR against an 18-year-old youth, who has been arrested.
Speaking to TOI, Ajay Kishore, station house officer of Shikohabad, said, “The accused neighbour took advantage of the absence of victim’s parents, who had gone for the glass factory. The youth forced himself on the girl and raped her. He also threatened her with the disclosure about the incident. But the girl narrated the ordeal to her parents, who confronted the accused and his relatives.”
“Later, they called the dial 100 team, who detained the youth and brought him to police station. The accused has been booked under IPC section 376 (rape) and the POCSO Act,” added officer Kishore.
