Man rapes 13-year-old step-daughter

Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar police arrested a man for allegedly raping his 13-year-old step-daughter between May and July this year. The accused was booked for criminal intimidation and rape under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to police, the accused, a mechanic, had married the survivor’s mother around seven years back. The survivor, Shalu (name changed) was the daughter from her mother’s first marriage.
On May 22, Shalu was alone at home when the accused allegedly raped her. The accused also threatened Shalu, saying that he would divorce her mother if she shared the incident with anyone.
Shalu did not share the incident with anyone. However, on July 3, the accused raped her again.
This time, the survivor shared the incident with her aunt, who took her to Yashgodhara police station and filed a complaint.

Cops nabbed the accused from his house and produced him before court on Wednesday, procuring his PCR till July 13. The police also conducted the the survivor’s medical check-up.
In another incident, a 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man while she was alone at her home in Veltur. The accused has been identified as Samadhan Shinde.
