New Zealand have set a 240-run target for India in their ongoing Cricket World Cup fixture. Yesterday (July 9), Kane Williamson's outfit were 211-5 after which rain stopped play at Old Trafford, postponed to the reserve day on July 10. They could only add 28-runs more, finishing at 239-8.
Ravindra Jadeja was one of the standout stars during New Zealand's innings, with a superb direct throw from deep mid-wicket to finish off Ross Taylor, who was at 74 for 90 balls.
Jadeja also caught out Tom Latham, earning Bhuvneshwar Kumar his second wicket of the match.
Jasprit Bumrah and Kumar put in a high-intensity display in a session which was around 20-minutes.
Jadeja and KL Rahul were excellent while fielding.
Other than Yuzvendra Chahal (1/63), the NZ batsmen couldn't dominate any of the Indian bowlers, conceding a total of 158 dot balls.
The weatherman has predicted that there will be clear weather till mid-afternoon, enabling India to chase and attempt to book a final slot.
