Ahmedabad crime branch nabs two taking bets on India- New Zealand World Cup semi-final

AHMEDABAD: City crime branch on Tuesday nabbed two persons Bhargav Patel and Hitesh Bharwad for allegedly taking bets on the World Cup semi-final match between India and New Zealand, which was later interrupted due to rain.
According to FIR, crime branch received information on Tuesday evening that some two persons are taking bets on the World Cup cricket match between India and New Zealand near Avirat Bungalows in Sola. "We raided the place and found that both the accused with the help of a software were taking bets from punters. They were taking "session cutting" bets.

Crime branch officials said they seized two cell phones and cash of Rs 700 from the accused. Both the accused are being interrogated to pin point to whom they were forwarding the bets" said a crime branch official.
It is worth mentioning that bookies now a days, take bets on software. “They take the password and ID of the bookie to whom they are forwarding the bets and take bets punters” a crime branch official said.
