Focus on law and order in State, TDP chief tells Jagan

Telugu Desam Party will not tolerate attacks on its workers and agitate on streets if Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy fails to maintain law and order in the State.

Addressing the party cadre after meeting the kin of party worker Chinta Bhaskar Reddy, who was killed during the polling in the village, he said six party workers were killed all over the State and over 100 activists physically attacked.

While two accused in the murder case were still absconding, one person took anticipatory bail and were roaming free, he said. He asked the police personnel to work without any partisan approach or favour for the ruling party and curb violence in the State.

‘Properties too targeted’

Properties were also targeted/destroyed and a girl was killed in a village in Prakasam district in a very heinous manner just because she worked for the TDP, he said.

Mr. Naidu assured the cadre that NTR Trust would take care of the studies of the children of those killed in political violence. “We are ready to support them till they wish to study,” he said.

He advised the YSRCP government to concentrate on administration and ensure all welfare schemes were implemented as promised before elections. “While Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised ₹3,000 as pension, the government is giving ₹2,250 only,” Mr. Naidu pointed out.

During the TDP rule it was increased from ₹200 to ₹2,000, he told the cadre.

Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna said that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy must concentrate on administration and not on ‘attacks’ on the TDP cadre.

Victim Bhaskar Reddy’s daughter was given a cheque for ₹5 lakh by former MLA J.C. Prabhakar Reddy and ₹5 lakh by the TDP. A sum of ₹1 lakh was made a fixed deposit in the name of the girl by NTR Trust and the receipt was given away by Mr. Balakrishna.

Party leaders J.C. Pavan Reddy, former Ministers Paritala Sunitha, Kalava Srinivasulu, Palle Raghunath Reddy and party district president B.K. Parthasarathi were present.
