Belagavi: Due to continuous heavy rainfall in
Maharashtra and in Khanapur, as many as 10
bridges have gone under water in the district.
The Kallol-Yadur, Karadaga-Bhoj, Bhojwadi-Kunnur, Jatrat-Bhivashi and Akkol-Sidnal on the Krishna and Vedaganga rivers and Malikwad-Dattawad on the Doodhganga in Nippani taluk have been under water since two days.
The Alatri bridge connecting Tivoli and Bosagali bridge on the Malaprabha in Khanapur taluk has
submerged. A bridge between Bevinkop and Sangolli in Bailhongal talukand the Shingalapur bridge cum barrage on Ghataprabha river in Gokak taluk have also submerged.
The local administration and police have made alternative arrangements for traffic movement. Officials have called upon people to stay away from flood water and move to safer places.
