ALLAHABAD: The
Allahabad division of the
North Central Railways (NCR) has undertaken a public awareness campaign through
mobile video van. Making common man aware at stations, station premises, public places, schools, petrol pumps, level crossing etc, the awareness would conclude on July 13.
Allahabad division PRO SK Gupta said that one mobile video van is travelling across the division to make the public aware to not cross level crossing when it is closed and do not travel on train's roof or on the footboard of the coach. Likewise, not to travel with any flammable thing in the train or keep any stones or any other items on the railway track and not to tamper with any railway equipment.
“Citizens are being made aware to not throw stones or mud on the moving train and not cause any kind of damage to trains. Likewise, to curb the incidents of cattle run over, mobile video van is being used to educate villagers by going to village to village and at level crossing, to not leave their cattle out in open near railway tracks because cattle run over not only cause loss of life and public money but also affects rail operations”, says the PRO.
Allahabad division is an important division of Indian Railways where trains are being operated over line capacity which is a challenging task. Safety drives are being regularly organized to make the employees aware and alert.
“Night footplate inspections and surprise inspections are being conducted by the officers and staff to make the loco-pilots alert”, said Gupta. The staff of safety department visits the gates and schools to make people aware and especially to the vehicle drivers to follow the rule on level crossings
