The World Cup semifinal match between India and New Zealand was interrupted due to rain at Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday.
The players had to leave the field as it started to drizzle and covers were pulled out in the 47th over of New Zealand innings.
New Zealand were at 211 for the loss of five after 46.1 overs when the rain stopped play with Ross Taylor and Tom Latham on 67 and three, respectively.
At around 11 PM IST, ICC officially decided to take the match for a RESERVE DAY- where New Zealand will resume their innings at 211/5 in 46.1 overs at 3 pm on Wednesday.
The rain has become the main topic of attention during this year's edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, with four matches all ready being called off so far due to unplayable weather conditions before today's semifinal 1.
This is the second time when India vs New Zealand matchup has been interpreted due to rain in this year's World Cup 2019 in England. Last time it was at Nottingham where the match was called up completely after stormy weather took over.
According to tonight's weather forecast by The Weather Company, Manchester is set to receive more rainfall with the average temperature being around 14*C.
The weather forecast for Wednesday inst that attractive as well with 20% chances of rainfall in the city.
New Zealand will complete their 50-over innings and India will then complete their 50-over innings, weather permitting. The match may be shortened dependent on conditions.
For the match to be completed, India are required to bat for at least 20 overs. If after the reserve day the match has still not reached a result, India will progress to the final given their higher finishing position in the group stage.
