Jaguar Land Rover staff treated after 'chemical incident'

LONDON: Paramedics treated 28 staff members working at Jaguar Land Rover's Solihull site following a suspected chemical incident. " The Hazardous Area Response Team and several ambulances rushed to Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) 300-acre plant in Solihull, near Birmingham, on Sunday to deal with a suspected chemical incident," West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Staff felt unwell after a floor treatment product applied on Saturday had let off fumes. Twenty-seven staff were treated by paramedics on the scene and one was hospitalised but discharged a few hours later. A spokesperson at JLR said: "At no point was there any serious risk to health and safety. A full internal investigation is underway."
Car giant JLR, a subsidiary of Indian vehicle maker Tata Motors, employs 10,000 people on the Solihull site which manufactures cars such as Range Rover and Jaguar F-Pace.
