Drug peddler with 1.1kg ganja arrested

Mangaluru: Continuing their crackdown on drugs, Mangaluru city police on Monday arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized 1.1kg ganja from him.

According to police, they arrested Rahim, 44, a resident of Addor, while he was supplying ganja to students near Pandeshwar. They have also seized a scooter, a cellphone and a digital weighing machine from him. Rahim had been booked in 11 ganja-related cases at different stations.
Seven were arrested during an operation carried out by Mangaluru North sub-division police personnel on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off given by people to city police chief Sandeep Patil, police had raided Garuda Lodge at Surathkal in Surathkal police limits and found drugs in two rooms. They had seized 500grams ganja from the accused.
