Mysuru: City-based
theatre personality Muddukrishna, 65, and his
wife Indrani, 59, died in an
accident in Lucknow,
Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.
The couple was in Lucknow to celebrate Indrani’s birthday, which was on Monday. While travelling in the city on Sunday, the vehicle in which they were travelling in collided with a double-decker bus. They were admitted to a nearby hospital. Indrani, a scientist at CFTRI, succumbed to her injuries at 3.30pm on Sunday, while Muddukrishna breathed his last on Monday morning.
According to relatives, the bodies will be brought to Mysuru city on Tuesday and the cremation will be held on Wednesday. Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy condoled their
death through a tweet.
Muddukrishna and Indrani were also involved in social activities. Muddukrishna was known for his association with Mysuru Film Society, Bengaluru International Film Festival and Dasara festival. Every Friday, he would host Cinema Samaya at the Kalamandira.
Manu of Mysuru Film Society told TOI that Muddukrishna was a ‘Walking- Wikipedia’ when it came to film and theatre. “He had inspired many young couples to opt simple marriages,” Manu said.
The couple is survived by two sons who live in Sweden.
