Army not to get extra space at Pune station

Pune railway station
PUNE: The Central Railway authorities have expressed their inability to provide additional storage space and waiting area for defence personnel at the Pune Railway Station because of want of adequate space.
The Dakshin Maharashtra and Goa Sub AREA (DMGSA), which is the local military authority (LMA), had recently placed a proposal to this effect at the civil military liaison conference.
The railway officials said they were facing problems of space crunch and, as such, it will not be possible for them to create additional or dedicated space for defence personnel.

“We have discussed the nitty-gritty of the LMA’s proposal at the meeting. We have not given any commitment on the demand because we do not have enough or additional space at the station. We have conveyed this to the army authorities,” a senior railway official told TOI on Monday.
The army has its Movement Control Office (MCO) at the station. But it does not have adequate space. As a result, personnel serving at the facility face difficulties in daily functioning, sources said.
