Ministry of Tourism is all set to launch on special economic zone in Mandeh

The Ministry of Tourism in the coming days will create a master plan for the development of the Ameh Hill Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the Integrated Marine Tourism Area of Mandeh in Pesisir Selatan District, West Sumatra.

“Monday (July 8) the meeting on the opening of the event will be held in Jakarta,” Head of the Pesisir Selatan Tourism, Youth and Sports office, Hadi Susilo, explained on Sunday in Painan. For a comprehensive discussion, the meeting was attended by the ministry’s officials as well as those from the local district government.

Besides, District Head of Pesisir Selatan, Hendrajoni, Assistant of Government and People’s Welfare, Muskamal, Head of Transportation Office, Gunawan, Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning, Era Sukma Munaf, Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Rinaldi and others took part in the event.

Deputy for Tourism Destination Development, Assistant Deputy for Infrastructure and Ecosystems, Assistant Deputy for Regional Tourism Destination Development, Assistant Deputy for Tourism Investment and Head of Tourism Destination Development Planning were also present in the event.

According to him, the master plan for the growth is a basic need in speeding up initiations to recognize SEZ in the marine tourism object.

Beforehand, Pesisir Selatan District Head Hendrajoni explained that in addition to the development master plan, the central government would at the same time help in preparing the project.

Help from the central government, he continued, is an anxiety for setting up of world of tourism in the local area which is hoped to be able to perk up local revenue and boost up the growth of the local economy.

After everything is completed, it will then be reported to the president. If all documents are complete, the presidential regulation regarding SEZ will then be issued.

Encouraging the acceleration of KEK Mandeh, the district government will try hard to take in land acquisition on the site.

Next comes road to the location which will also be constructed so that everything will run without overlapping.

As per the District Head, a four-kilometer road to KEK Mandeh will be developed with a width of 20 meters.

Besides, he also continues to endorse the SEZ area to investors at home and abroad expecting that when all is done immediately there are third parties that will manage it.
