The Crime Branch (CB) on Monday arrested two more police officers at the Nedumkandam police station in connection with the custodial torture and death of Kolahalamedu resident Rajkumar on June 21.
The arrested are assistant sub-inspector Rejimon and police driver Niyas, the second and third accused in the case. The CB had earlier arrested sub-inspector K.A.Sabu and police driver Sajeev Antony, who have been arraigned as the first and third accused respectively in the case. As per a CB report, these four officials were chiefly responsible for the inhuman torture of Rajkumar from June 12 to 16 when he was in illegal custody at the station.
On Monday, Manjusha, the third accused in the financial fraud case and a staff at Harita Financiers run by Rajkumar, was also questioned at the Crime Branch camp office. Shalini, the second accused in the financial fraud case, will be interrogated on Tuesday.
