General Secretary Of All India Congress Committee, Jyotiraditya Scindia Resigns

Before Jyotiraditya Scindia, many prominent leaders of Congress have resigned such as Milind Murli Deora (Mumbai Congress President), Rahul Gandhi, (President of Indian National Congress), Raj Babbar (Uttar Pradesh Congress chief) and many more.

Senior Congress leader, Jyotiraditya Scindia has resigned from his post as General Secretary of All India Congress. He said that he had submitted his resignation to Rahul Gandhi, who himself quit as the Congress President, and was his individual decision. 

He was appointed as the Congress General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh (West) while Priyanka Gandhi took the charge of Uttar Pradesh (East) in the run-up of Lok Sabha elections, 2019. He is currently a member of the Lok Sabha, representing the parliamentary constituency of Guna.  

The news of his resignation came in run to Congress Working Committee (CWC) meet. It was the time when they are going to elect a new party chief. It also coincides with the appointment of PC chief in Madhya Pradesh.  

He comes from an educated family with enduring the legacy of public services. His first encounter in early life came at the early age of thirteen when he campaigned for his father in 1986. He had won nine consecutive elections from Gwalior and Guna constituencies and carries forward his family passion for history conservation and tradition. 

Jyotiraditya Scindia has suffered a major blow in the Lok Sabha Elections, 2019 as he had lost his own seat from Guna, Madhya Pradesh. In fact, Rahul Gandhi, the President had lost the elections from Amethi against Smriti Zubin Irani.  

Before Jyotiraditya Scindia, many prominent leaders of Congress have resigned such as Milind Murli Deora (Mumbai Congress President), Rahul Gandhi, (President of Indian National Congress), Raj Babbar (Uttar Pradesh Congress chief) and many more. 

With the resignation of General Secretary, it is yet to be seen whether the other leaders of All India Press Committee and Pradesh Council Committee will too quit from its post.
