AHMEDABAD: The state government has spent Rs 15.51 crore for
kite festival in the last two years between April 1, 2017 and March 31, 2019. The government has said that 48 ambassadors and guest have attended the kite festival in two years.
The government was replying to the question of
Ellisbridge MLA Rakesh Shah. Government said that in the financial year 2017-18 there were 21 guest who took part in the kite festival while in 2018-19 the number of guest were 27.
The reply also stated that the kite festival was attended by 1331 kite fliers. In 2017-18 the International Kite Festival was organised in 18 different towns and cities of the state, while the same in 2018-19 was at only 10 places.

Bhuj MLA Dr Nimaben Archarya stated that the
Rann Utsav was organised for 236 days in the last two years and the expenditure incurred by the government was Rs 5.96 crore. The government in reply to the question as to how many tourist visited Rann Utsav stated that a total 0f 10.15 lakh tourists took part in the Rann Utsav.
