Coimbatore: A US-based life sciences company has joined hands with the city-based Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB) to market and sell a DNA isolation kit developed by its scientists last year. The kit is less hazardous, faster and more cost-effective than other commercially-available kits in the market.
IFGTB officials said the US-based firm, Kerafast, has agreed to market and sell ArborEasy®, a spin column DNA isolation kit developed by scientist Modhumita Dasgupta. “IFGTB signed a bipartite memorandum of agreement with Kerafast in Boston,” said director Mohit Gera. “They will sell the kit through their e-commerce portal based on a non-exclusive license.”
The technology will be commercialized by Gurugram-based Adastra.
