CHANDIGARH:
Haryana Congress chief
Ashok Tanwar, who continues to stick to his post despite most of Team Rahul members resigning from their posts in solidarity with their leader, has been reprimanded by party’s Haryana in-charge
Ghulam Nabi Azad for setting up the Election Planning and Management Committee (EPMC). Azad on Sunday nullified the EMPC, a day before it to meet in New Delhi, saying the authority to constitute any committee related to elections lies with the AICC only.
The state body has no authority to constitute such committee and do so only after consultation with senior leaders, the Congress’s Haryana in-charge said. As calls for his resignation grew louder in the state, Tanwar had on Friday announced the formation of the EPMC to deliberate on the upcoming state assembly elections.
