14 Karnataka MLAs leave Mumbai for Goa
Fourteen MLAs of the ruling JD(S)-Congress government in Karnataka Monday left for Goa as the scene of action on the fate of the Kumaraswamy-led regime shifted to the coastal state.
The MLAs, including 10 of Congress, two of JD(S) and two Independents, left for Goa in the evening and are being accompanied by MohitBhartiya, president of the Mumbai BJP Yuva Morcha, sources said.
Maharashtra BJP legislator Prasad Lad said the 14 MLAs left the luxury hotel in suburban Bandra where they were put up, at 5 pm. They are expected to stay at a resort in Goa, sources said. (PTI)

Another Independent Karnataka Minister resigns, supports BJP
Karnataka Minister and Independent MLA R Shankar Monday resigned from the H D Kumaraswamy cabinet and extended support to the opposition BJP.
Shankar met state Governor Vajubhai Vala and conveyed his decision to support BJP, a communication from the Raj Bhavan said.
The Ranebennur MLA, who quit as Municipal Administration Minister, later left for Mumbai.
With Shankar's decision, the BJP's numbers in the 224-member assembly has gone up to 107 while the strength of the ruling coalition has come down to 116 excluding the Speaker. The half-way mark is 113.
If the Speaker accepts the resignation of the 13 MLAs, the government numbers will fall to 103. (PTI)

Youth Cong workers protest at hotel hosting rebel Karnataka MLAs
Youth Congress workers brought two horse-drawn carriages outside a suburban hotel where several Karnataka MLAs are camping and protested against the BJP's "horse trading", which it said, had led to the crisis in the alliance government in the southern state.
The workers, numbering more than 200, shouted slogans against the BJP and demanded that the MLAs take back their resignations.
As part of the protest, they brought two horse-drawn carriages outside the hotel and accused the BJP, the main opposition party in Karnataka, of indulging in "horse trading". (PTI)

I have no fear: CM HD Kumaraswamy
In his first comments after 13 MLAs resigned and plunged the Congress-JDS coalition government into a crisis, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy earlier today asserted he has "no fear" about the "political developments" and was concentrating on fulfilling his responsibilities.
Kumaraswamy, who returned from his 10-day long US trip on July 7 night, was talking to reporters at the state secretariat after holding discussions with officials and farmers' representatives regarding revival of a sugar factory in Mandya.
"I have no fear about the political developments, I will not discuss about the political developments... I have nothing do with what BJP people are doing and what others are doing," he said.
Kumaraswamy added: "In the current situation, I have the responsibility of governing the state, my attention is towards fulfilling that responsibility. I have not paid any attention to political developments, there is no such need for me." (PTI)

Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Karnataka crisis: Don't blame me or aircraft
"Don't blame me for your problems," tweeted Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a Rajya Sabha member of the BJP on Monday, responding to allegations from the Congress-JDS coalition in Karnataka that he flew rebel lawmakers to Mumbai by a chartered flight.
Eleven lawmakers of the Congress and JDS were taken from Bengaluru to Mumbai on a special flight hours after they submitted their resignation letters on Saturday. The lawmakers are currently at a five-star hotel in the financial capital.
"Dear Dr Parameshwara - this 'aircraft' is a commercial charter - that has been chartered by many people, including your own ministers, in the past! So don't blame me or an 'aircraft' or BJP for the problems in your crooked corrupt opprtunistic 'alliance' (sic)", Rajeev Chandrasekhar tweeted.
News18 has reported that the Janata Dal (Secular) will be moved its MLAs to a resort in Coorg. It remains unclear if the monsoon session of Assembly, which was expected to begin on July 12, would start as planned or be postponed.
Karnataka Political Crisis Live Updates: Independent MLA Nagesh has reached Sofitel Hotel in Mumbai where other rebels MLAs from Karnataka are staying. Nagesh had resigned as a minister and withdrawn support given to the Congress-JD(S) government earlier today.
Karnataka CMO confirms ministers' resignation, says reshuffle will happen soon
Karnataka Chief Minister’s Office, in a tweet, has confirmed that all ministers from JD(S) have submitted their resignations “just like the 21 ministers from Congress”.
“Cabinet reshuffle will happen soon,” the tweet adds.
