Gang of five snatches SUV from trader at gunpoint

GURUGRAM: A city-based trader was robbed of his SUV, cash and other valuables by five assailants, who held him hostage at gunpoint near Kherki Daula toll plaza on Saturday night.
According to the police, the crime happened around midnight when Indrajeet, a resident of Sector 84, was returning home in his Fortuner.
“When I reached near Kherki Daula toll plaza, a Honda City car suddenly overtook my car and stopped in front of me. Before I could figure out anything, three men came out of that car and pulled out their guns. They pushed me to the passenger seat of my car, while one of them sat on the driver’s seat,” Indrajeet told police.
The accused took the SUV towards Southern Peripheral Road, while the Honda City — with two others — followed them. Indrajeet was robbed of Rs 75,000, gold chain and mobile phone at gunpoint and later pushed out of the car near Bhondsi.
He took help from some locals and reached Kherki Daula police station and filed a complaint. An FIR was registered under Section 379B (snatching by using weapon) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
In a similar incident, another city-based businessman — Hoshiyar Singh — was robbed of his Honda City by two armed robbers near Nayagaon.
“I had come to Gurugram for some work and was returning to Rewari when the crime happened. I had stopped my car near Nayagaon and had steeped out to relieve myself. When I returned, two men were standing near my car and had parked their Swift ahead of mine. As I requested them to move their car, they pulled out guns and snatched my car keys. They thrashed me and fled with my car,” Singh told police.
An FIR was registered against the accused under Section 379B (snatching by using weapon) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act at Manesar police station. “Cases have been registered and police are trying to collect CCTV footage to identify the accused,” police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
