A 26-year-old man has been charged over the death of Oakey man Paul Rock, who was stabbed multiple times in a Lockyer Valley hotel car park last week.

The man from Park Ridge was being questioned by detectives on Monday after Mr Rock's body was found in the rear car park of a local business on Laidley Plainland Road about 6pm on July 1.

Police were looking for the accused and another man when they made the discovery.

Police said the attack occurred at the suburb of Plainland after Mr Rock, 53,  allegedly became involved in an incident with two men.

The 26-year-old man has been charged with six offences including murder, supplying dangerous drugs and armed robbery in company using personal violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and breach of bail.

He was referred to Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday and was remanded to reappear on September 4.
