Bid to pull woman into car, another harassed at home

PANCHKULA: Police have arrested four persons for allegedly stalking and sexually harassing women in two cases in the city.
A woman said she was standing at a bus stand in Barwala on Saturday, when a car stopped near her. Its three occupants passed obscene comments at her and one of them tried to pull her into the car, the woman alleged. She somehow managed to escape and lodged a complaint with the police.
A police team arrested the three accused, Bhagat Ram, Mandeep, Shubham, all resident of Bataur village. Barwala police post in-charge sub-inspector (SI) Rishi Pal said court remanded them in judicial custody.

In the second case, a woman alleged her neighbour entered her home from the rooftop at Mauli village in Raipur Rani and tried to sexually assault her. Police arrested the accused identified as Ankit. A court remanded him in judicial custody.
On June 22, a 24-year-old Panjab University (PU) student was allegedly stalked by a person in a black SUV on her way to home for over 1 km. The accused allegedly allegedly stopped his car in front of her Honda Activa scooter and harassed her. Police later arrested the accused.
