MUMBAI: The autorickshaw unions have called off their state-wide strike. More than 20 lakh drivers had earlier decided to go off roads indefinitely from midnight demanding ban on services of Ola and Uber, hikes in fares and police crackdown on illegal autos on roads.
The strike was, however, called off after chief minister
Devendra Fadnavis intervened into the matter.
Auto union leader Shashank Rao said that the CM has called for a meeting on Tuesday to discuss and resolve the pending issues of autorickshaw driver of
Maharashtra. The meeting is scheduled for 3pm. Transport minister Diwakar Raote will also be present at the meeting.
