  • Update: The Lok Sabha has convened. Congress' Shashi Tharoor speaking on Budget 2019-20.

  • Rajnath Singh in Lok Sabha, earlier in the day: We're committed to maintaining dignity of parliamentary democracy. Trend of submitting resignations was started by Rahul Gandhi in Congress, it wasn't started by us. He himself asked people to submit resignations,even senior leaders are submitting their resignations. 

  • Both, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, have beenbeen adjourned till 2.00 pm.

  • Both Houses have convened. Question Hour has begun in the Lok Sabha.

  • Congress has given an Adjournment Motion notice in the Lok Sabha over the ongoing political crisis in Karnataka.

  • In the Rajya Sabha today:

    Papers will be laid on the Table of the House. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move two statutory resolutions after the Question Hour concludes.

    The Dentists (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and The Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2019 will be moved for consideration and passing today.

  • In the Lok Sabha today:

    The proceedings will begins with the Question Hour. Union Minister will lay papers of the table of the House. Secretary General will report a message from Rajya Sabha regarding the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Union Ministers Faggansingh Kulaste, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao will make statements in the House.

    Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move two resolutions. A number of Bills will be introduced in the Lok Sabha. Urgent matters of public importance will be discussed, followed by a general discussion on the Union Budget.

  • Update: The Lok Sabha has passed the Aadhar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2019.

  • In the Rajya Sabha today:

    Question Hour will take place after papers are laid on the Table of the House. RK Sinha will call the attention of the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment to the situation arising out of the reports of increasing drug addiction among school children in various parts of the country.

    D Raja, Binoy Visham and Elamaram Kareem will move a resolution seeking the House’s disapproval of the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Second Ordinance, 2019 (No.5 of 2019) promulgated by the President of India on February 21.

    Health Minister Harsh Vardan will move The Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2019, for consideration and passing.

  • In the Lok Sabha:

    Urgent matters of public importance will be discussed.

    NK Premachandran, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Shashi Tharoor and Saugata Roy will move a statutory resolution seeking the House’s disapproval of the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019 (No. 9 of 2019) promulgated by the President on March 2.

    Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will move The Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2019, for consideration and passing.

  • In the Lok Sabha today:

    Proceedings will begin with the Question Hour. After this, papers will be laid on the Table. Secretary General will report two messages from the Rajya Sabha regarding the Homoeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers' Cadre) Bill, 2019.

    Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to make a statement regarding Medium of examination for direct recruitment to certain levels in Regional Rural Banks.

    Congress’ leader in the Lower House, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will move a motion that the House disagrees with the Second Report of the Business Advisory Committee presented to the House yesterday.

  • Ravi Shankar Prasad in Rajya Sabha: Opposition should not blame EVM for its defeat and we should respect the mandate of the people. All courts have said that EVMs are safe and secure, and there have been no specific complaints against EVM.

    Election officials are conducting polls and doing their duties in troublesome conditions, which was visible when they reached polling booth in Arunachal Pradesh after climbing hills for 2 days for one voter so that he could exercise his franchise.

  • 'No longer Congress president', says Rahul Gandhi, urges working committee to decide on new chief

    Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said he was “no longer” the Congress president and the party should decide on the new chief “without further delay”. 

    "It is an honour for me to serve the Congress Party, whose values and ideals have served as the lifeblood of our beautiful nation. I owe the country and my organisation a debt of tremendous gratitude and love," Gandhi wrote in a letter posted on Twitter.
