One more held in minor girl rape case

Coimbatore: The Pollachi all-women police on Monday arrested M Prabhu, an absconding accused in the 16-year-old girl rape case. Police have already arrested nine men in the case and the accused are lodged at the Coimbatore central prison.
Prabhu, alias Manikandan, 22, of Pollachi, was traced near Gomangalam. A wall painter, Prabhu was booked under sections 366 (A) (procuration of minor girl) of the Indian Penal Code read with 5 (I) (g) and 6 of the Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The minor girl, a Class dropout, was under the care of her grandmother as her mother died 14 years ago and father married another woman. Her grandmother was a daily wage labourer. tnn
