CHANDIGARH: Congress MLA from Punjab's
Fatehgarh Sahib,
Kuljit Singh Nagra, resigned as secretary,
All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) on Monday following party’s national president Rahul Gandhi’s decision to quit.
In his resignation letter sent to Rahul, Nagra has said, "I firmly believe that the perceived defeat is our collective responsibility and your firm decision does not permit me to continue as secretary, AICC. I thus tender my resignation."
The letter added, "I am personally affected by your decision not to continue as the AICC president. Millions of Indians, who reposed their faith in you and have voted for the Congress party, are looking forward to creation of humane and egalitarian narrative. In the process manipulated by misinformation and hatred, you are the only hope for society and we assure and pledge our selfless support for the cause, which requires more determination and grit at this juncture."
