Perth builder steps down after 15 years of standing behind his homes
The Perth builder famed for "standing behind every home he builds" has stepped down from the company he founded.
On Monday, Gemmill homes managing director Craig Gemmill announced a change of ownership at the company.
Majority shareholder John Wilson made an offer to purchase Mr Gemmill's shareholdings and take full ownership of the business, which was accepted.
The company's group building manager Domenic Morolla will take over as general manager. The company will continue to sport the Gemmill name.
In a statement Mr Gemmill said the decision was amicable and he would explore new opportunities in due course.
“I have invested over 15 years of my life into the business and it has become a strong recognised brand in Western Australia,” he said.
“Domenic’s knowledge of the West Australian market is second to none and he has the experience to lead Gemmill forward.
“I wish the team all the success in the world, and I am looking forward to exploring opportunities in due course.”
Mr Morolla said the company would continue to deliver quality homes they "stood behind.”
“The business continues to make decisions to better the business for suppliers, contractors, staff and clients," he said.
The company said the change in ownership would not impact staff or any current or future projects.
