PANAJI: Bardez has reason to cheer as the state government decided on Monday to construct a Ravindra Bhavan in Mapusa on land measuring 40,000 sqm. The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) will be asked to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the project. The seating capacity of the auditorium will be around 1,000.
Art and culture minister Govind Gaude held a meeting with Bardez MLAs to finalise the site for the Ravindra Bhavan. “We have come to a conclusion that it will be constructed in Mapusa, opposite the Bodgeshwar Temple in survey number 1 and 2. An in-principle decision has been taken,” he said.

Gaude said that to speed up the process, he has appointed a sub-committee under his chairmanship.
“This seven-member committee will expedite the process of land acquisition and will take care of other issues. We have taken a decision that within 30 days all procedures related to the Ravindra Bhavan should be completed ,” Gaude said
