PUNE: While entrepreneurs from different fields shared a mixed response to the Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday, they were happy with the start-up policy.

Reacting to the budget announcement, Pankajj Ghode, Co-Founder and CEO of Agri10x said, “I am happy with the opportunities the budget is offering. It is good the government has decided to focus on agriculture and start-ups. A television programme within the DD bouquet of channels exclusively for start-ups is  a welcome move which reflects the positive thinking of the government towards start-ups. Similarly, the start-ups which file requisite declarations will not be subjected to any kind of scrutiny and this is what start-ups are expecting.”

Speaking on skilling issue of manpower in India,  Ghode said, “I have observed that an educational scheme takes years to be implemented and this time needs to be reduced. Another  entrepreneur  Neha Indoria, Co-founder of Boingg said, “Launch of an exclusive TV programme sounds promising for a bootstrap start-up with minimal marketing spends. Schemes and incentives to encourage women entrepreneurs will definitely bring a drastic change in the start-up industry.”

Vipul Jain, CEO, Advancells said there are no big ticket announcements. “From the start-up’s point of view the government has heard a few demands and taken action but it remains to be seen whether the enthusiasm around start-ups  evident in the previous administration will get carried over to current administration. It seems like a budget that points towards the fact that the government is serious about getting the job done before it makes any new promises.”
