Inaugurates automatic fuse off call facility

Minister for Forests, Dindigul C. Srinivasan, inaugurated an automatic fuse off call facility at the office of the Superintending Engineer, TANGEDCO, in Angu Nagar, here, on Saturday.

The Minister said that automatic fuse off call facilities are being installed in 16 circles of TANGEDCO at a cost of ₹4.85 crore and the facility at Dindigul circle, falling under Madurai Zone has been installed at a cost of ₹20 lakh.

Through this, about 8,69,186 consumers across Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Batlagundu, Natham, Gopalpatti, Vedasandur, Nilakottai, Kovilur, Kodaikanal, Chinnalapatti, Gujiliamparai, Vadamadurai, Kallimandayam, Palani and Eriyodu can air their grievances directly and get them redressed without any hassle.

Earlier in the day, he flagged off 30 new buses that will ply via different routes in the district. Out of this, 11 buses will be dedicated for connectivity to hill villages like Thandikudi, Kilavarai, Solaikadu and Adalur.

When asked about the merger of Kodaikanal wildlife sanctuary with Anamalai Tiger Reserve, he said that certain ranges of the Palani hills will be merged with the adjoining Anamalai Tiger Reserve, without causing trouble to farmers and common people living on the hills.

Later, the Minister also distributed 1,641 free laptops to headmasters of primary, middle and high schools. “Tamil Nadu is the first State in the country to give free laptops to not just the students but also to headmasters. Teachers act as the foundation of quality education and the Government has been taking into account the various demands of the teaching community,” said the Minister. He added that 800 laptops have been given to high school headmasters and 841 laptops have been distributed to headmasters from primary and middle schools across Dindigul district.
