Labourers beat up house owner in Dharwad

HUBBALLI: A house owner was beaten black and blue by construction labourers in Tejaswi Nagar in Dharwad on Thursday.
Rudrayya Hiremath was beaten up by four labourers who have been identified as Jagdish Rathod, Muddu Krishna, Anand and Raju Rathod, all residents of Dharwad.
According to police, Rudrayya had hired the accused to build the third floor of his house and had paid them an advance of Rs 35,000. Despite Rudrayya’s repeated requests the accused did not complete the work in the time.
On Thursday, the accused were shifting all their equipment kept at Rudrayya’s house. On knowing it, the victim tried to stop them and demanded that the finish the work first. The accused then beaten him up and left the place. Vidyagiri police have registered a case.

Traffic fine violation
Traffic police booked 1,031 cases against traffic violators and collected a fine of Rs 2,10,350 from them on Thursday.
