The Bombay High Court on Friday extended the interim protection from arrest for activist Gautam Navlakha in the Bhima-Koregaon violence case till July 23.

A Division Bench of Justices Ranjit More and Bharati Dangre was hearing a plea filed by Mr. Navlakha urging the court to quash the first information report registered against him by the Pune Police.

The court asked if additional public prosecutor Aruna Kamat Pai could share the documents attached to the charge sheet that the police had relied upon in the case against the others arrested in the case.

In the last hearing, after perusing some letters written by Mr. Navlakha, the Bench had said, “There is nothing against [Mr. Navlakha] in any of the letters. We are of the prima facie opinion that there is nothing against him based on the documents submitted to us.”
