LUDHIANA: To provide clean and green environment, place for exercise and spending leisure time for city residents, three Leisure Valleys to be developed in city. One of the leisure valley would be developed in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar and work for the same will be started from next week. Cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu inspected the project on Saturday and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials. He said that the project will be a lifeline for city and residents.
Giving information about the project, Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that the leisure valley will be developed from BRS Nagar Railway Bridge towards Ferozepur road which will cover area of 1.25km approximately. The project will cost Rs. 2.30 crore and the work order was allotted after the tender process.

Bharat Bhushan Ashu informed that this project was designed by former students of Horticulture Department of Punjab Agricultural university and the features will be modern infrastructure, benches, canopies, imported grass, plants, lighting etc. The rain water harvesting system will be also developed in Leisure Valley. The work will be completed in next four months, he added.
The minister further informed that two more leisure valleys would be developed in Haibowal and Ludhiana East constituency in coming days.
