Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to launch BJP's massive membership drive from Varanasi today July 6, for which he is in the city for the first time post his Lok Sabha election win. Through this drive, the party aims at increasing its membership by 20 per cent.
The drive will mark the birth anniversary of BJP's founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee.
Vice-president Shivraj Singh Chouhan said anyone can become a member by giving a missed call on a mobile number or by filing a form.
"The drive will further connect people from all walks of life with the BJP family. It will strengthen our party," Modi tweeted.

PM Modi will be received by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik at the Varanasi airport. BJP working president J P Nadda and Union minister Mahendra Nath Pandey will also be present.
PM said that this membership drive should include all section of society, including small vendors, vegetable sellers, marginalised section of the society.
The prime minister will address around 5,000 party workers at Deendayal Upadhyaya Trade Facilitation Centre in Bada Lalpur. He will also unveil a statue of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at the local airport, said a party functionary.

The prime minister will also launch a tree-plantation campaign, "Anand Kanan", in the temple city.
Modi also told party workers, at least five trees should be planted in every booth across the country.
All senior leaders will be participating in this membership drive. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will participate in the drive in Jaipur, BJP chief and Home Minister Amit Shah in Hyderabad and Union Road Minister Nitin Gadkari in Nagpur. Smriti Irani will be in Amethi to launch the drive at Gauriganj party office.
The drive will conclude on August 11.
