NEW DELHI:
Delhi Police on Friday recovered over 190 stolen laptops that were being resold from a shop in
Nehru Place on Friday. According to police, the shop owner received the stolen goods from several gangs operating in the city. He has been arrested.
DCP (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said a raid was conducted at the Nehru Place shop after the owner of a stolen computer informed the cops that his PC was put up for sale on an online portal. While tracking down the seller, cops came to know about one Saheb Ali, a criminal who used to break open car windows and stole laptops and other valuables.
During interrogation, Ali revealed that he had stolen several laptops that he would sell to a receiver at Nehru Place. Cops raided the receivers shop at Nehru Place and two men, identified as Pankhil Grover and Ishwar, were arrested along with the stolen goods. The accused used to run a well-known laptop repair shop where he offered spare computer parts at throwaway prices.
The laptops were kept at a godown on the sixth floor of an office building nearby.
