Indian Oil launches cleanliness drive in Bhopal

Bhopal, July 6: In order to inculcate a sense of cleanliness in citizens, government has earmarked 01-15 July ad Swachchta Pakhwara. Different organizations are organizing cleanliness drives in this period. Indian Oil Corporation, India’s leading PSU in oil refining and marketing also launched a cleanliness drive to contribute in this cause and promote awareness.
The pond near stop 5 in Bhopal was chosen for this initiative. In the morning of 6th July at about 10 AM, Officers of Indian Oil in collaboration with employees of Bhopal Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation) gathered at this place. Visitors to pond also chipped in to contribute their bit.
The campaign started with a pledge administered by General Manager of IOC to keep our surroundings clean and to also encourage our friends and peers to maintain cleanliness.
Thereafter, garbage floating in the pond and also lying on sites was collected. All those present on the site helped in collecting and scooping the litter and leftover on the site into baskets.  Officers of IndianOil lined up cheerfully in passing the baskets, which were emptied in Municipal Corporation’s garbage collecting van.
