Passenger served cockroach in meal, falls sick

NAVI MUMBAI: A passenger was allegedly served a meal with a cockroach in it, on a Duronto train running from Jaipur to Mumbai on Thursday. Mukesh Garg, a Kharghar resident, filed a complaint with the IRCTC on Friday stating that he suffered from loose motions and vomiting after dinner, and spotted the cockroach in the sink after throwing up. Doctors at Vadodara attended to him.
An IRCTC spokesperson said they will investigate, but the allegation is misconstrued. Another official said the insect's body parts were intact, which never happens during cooking and packing. Another spokesperson said before any action is taken, the caterer has been asked for an explanation.
