Bus smashes into a house and ploughs through a living room - but the occupants escaped with nothing but a 'scraped knee'
- The bus veered off the road and smashed into a house in Auckland, New Zealand
- Miraculously, there were no injuries but a scrape to the driver's knee
- The house was unoccupied so no one else was caught up in the carnage
- Social media has made light of the accident, calling it 'door to door service'
Shocking video has revealed the moment a bus ploughed into a living room in Auckland on Friday morning.
Emergency services were called to a home in Flat Bush about 11.23 on Friday morning after the bus smashed into the home.
Incredibly, nobody was badly hurt. The only injury recorded was a scratch to the bus driver's knee.
The home was not so lucky though, with the bus destroying the brick work and roofing of the front wall of the house.
In the clip, emergency services are seen crawling under the bus, attaching it to a tow-truck that reversed and dislodged the bus from the house.
The driver only had one passenger on board at the time, and nobody was home as the residence was undergoing renovation.
St John's Ambulance originally reported one patient was being treated for moderate injuries and the other for minor injuries.
But an Auckland Transport spokesman later told The New Zealand Herald that the only injury recorded was the scratch to the driver's knee.
Social media has seen the humour in the situation.
'Door to door service, I am jealous,' wrote one user.
'Well that's ironic,' wrote another. 'It happened in FLAT bush. True to its name I guess.'
Police are still investigating what happened.
