Alleged menace to get psych testing
A Melbourne man who police fear could commit the state's next violent atrocity could be granted bail next week if he can convince psychiatrists that he has had "a change of attitude".
Stephen Macras, 33, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday as part of his bid for bail after allegedly harassing police via email, brandishing a sword while being arrested and expressing desires to commit a "Bourke Street-style" mass killing.
Magistrate Belinda Wallington stood the matter down until next Thursday so Macras could meet with a forensic psychiatrist.
