In another incident of a public representative engaged in assault, a video of Milind Vaidya, ex-Mayor of Mumbai and Shiv Sena corporator, beating up a poultry seller, has gone viral.
On Friday at around 10 a.m., Mr. Vaidya along with his supporters went to Mahim's Naya Nagar area and created a ruckus. Mr. Vaidya is seen slapping a poultry seller on camera. After the incident, 8-10 poultry trucks stationed there were made to move.
Mr. Vaidya confirmed the incident.
"The trucks are stationed at this spot everyday, causing nuisance and unhygienic conditions. I have been raising this issue in ward council meetings for two years now. But neither BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) nor police took any action against them," Mr. Vaidya said.
"People who walk to Mahim station have to bear this smell and trash everyday. That is why I had to come to the streets in public interest."
