“Initially, the OPPO A9X was launched in a single variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage”
Just a few weeks ago, OPPO unveiled its latest A series smartphone called the OPPO A9X in its home market of China. The phone arrived in a single RAM and storage variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Now, it looks like the Chinese tech giant is planning to release a new variant of the smartphone in the country with higher RAM capacity. Ahead of an official announcement, a new 8GB RAM variant of the OPPO A9X has been spotted on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website. This model has been equipped with 8GB of RAM as well as 128GB of storage, and it could be launched in the country in the near future.
Apart from the higher RAM capacity, the new OPPO A9X variant has the same specs as its earlier launched version. The phone offers 6.53-inch IPS LCD display bearing a resolution of full HD+ as well as a waterdrop notch above. Powering the device is a 2.1GHz octa-core Mediatek Helio P70 processor, aided by a Mali G72 GPU. Software-wise, the smartphone runs ColorOS 6.0 that’s based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
For photography, the OPPO A9X offers a 48-megapixel primary camera at the back with an aperture of f/1.7. The main snapper is accompanied by a 5-megapixel shooter, which is capable of depth sensing. On the front, you have a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. The connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a microUSB port, and A-GPS. A beefy 4,020mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support completes the list of the specifications.
