ASI supended for firing from service pistol

A Delhi Police ASI posted at Keshav Puram police station in North-West district was suspended was allegedly firing from his service pistol on Wednesday night, officers said on Thursday.

DCP (North-West) Vijayanta Arya said that Jeetha Ram was on night duty when he fired from his service pistol. The matter came to light on Thursday morning and he was suspended following a preliminary inquiry. The police said that the medical examination of the policeman could not be done as the matter was brought to the knowledge of senior officers late on Thursday. They are tying to find out as to why he fired from his pistol.
