Ludhiana: The Special Task Force (STF) arrested two drug peddlers after 560-gram heroin and drug money of Rs 22,000 were recovered from them on Rahon Road.
Ludhiana STF in-charge inspector Harbans Singh said, “On a tip-off, a check-point was set up at Sunder Nagar Chowk on Rahon Road. Two men on a bike were stopped for checking. After 560-gram heroin and drug money were found on them, they were were arrested.”
The two identified themselves as Aniket, 24, and Raman Kumar, 38, both residents of Valmiki Nagar in Daresi.
“They were on way to deliver the consignment. During interrogation, Aniket revealed that he had studied up to Class XII and was unemployed. Ten drug peddling cases are registered against his father and brother. Raman works as a hosiery machines repair mechanic,” the inspector added.
They have been peddling heroin for over two years. “They would buy drugs from a Ludhiana man named Sunny,” he said.
