Heavy rain lashes central Gujarat, temple town Pavagadh pounded

VADODARA: Heavy rain lashed Halol taluka in Panchmahal district including the temple town of Pavagadh leading to waterlogging in some areas in the taluka besides cutting down on number of visitors to Pavagadh.
The downpour began early on Thursday morning in Halol and continued till around 10am. Nearby talukas of Ghoghamba and Jambughoda also witnessed good rainfall on Thursday till around noon.
On Thursday, Halol taluka received 7.7cm rainfall while Ghoghamba received 4.7cm rainfall. Jambughoda taluka received 5.7cm rainfall while the district headquarters of Panchmahal and Godhra registered 3.6cm rainfall.

The downpour in Halol taluka led to waterlogging in several areas of the taluka. Water was gushing down the Pavagadh hill including on the roads and even on the steps used by the pilgrims. Most shops and eateries on the hill had to remain closed due to heavy rainfall.
Waterlogging was reported from some areas in Halol town. These included Kothi Falia, Nehar Falia, Lakulishnagar and others. The road remained closed to vehicles owing to severe waterlogging in Limadi Falia in Halol taluka. The pond in Halol too was brimming due to fresh inflow of rainwater from Pavagadh hills. However, entire Panchmahal district got a rain breather on Thursday evening.
