32-year-old Hyderabad businessman shoots self in the head on Outer Ring Road, critical

HYDERABAD: A 32-year-old businessman attempted suicide by shooting himself with a country-made pistol while sitting in a Mercedes Benz on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Manchirevula in Narsingi on Thursday. He is said to be critical and undergoing treatment. Around 2.45pm, Faizan Ahmed, a job consultancy owner and resident of Lower Tank Bund, parked his vehicle on the extreme left lane of the ORR near Manchirevula. He shot himself in the head with a country-made pistol, Narsingi police said. He was travelling from Shamshabad to Gachibowli.
“A nearby traffic patrol car rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to hospital in a ‘108’ ambulance, where he is undergoing treatment and in critical condition,” deputy commissioner of police (Madhapur) A Venkateshwar Rao said. Police are probing from where he procured the weapon.

Police said Faizan’s Panjagutta-based job consultancy sends interested people to the US, but he suffered losses in the business. “We suspect that his losses in business may be the reason for his suicide bid. He was alone in the car,” Cyberabad police said. After exiting his head, the bullet hit the left window of the car and the bullet shell fell outside.
After the incident, Clues Teams reached the spot and collected evidence, including the pistol. During investigation, police came to know that Faizan took the Benz on rent from a company, which provides cars for self driving. “This car was given on rent to Faizan in October and since then, we have been raising bills. We came to know about the incident after police gave information,” SM Jain, designated partner, Driven By You Mobility LLP, said.
