She's scheduled to return to The Project on Monday night, after taking eight months of maternity leave.

Carrie admitted she had taken more time off work than she'd initially planned.

'I didn't set out to stick to a set time, as I didn't quite know how we'd go when Adelaide arrived,' she said.

'It's good because she's been a lot more challenging than I could ever have imagined!

'Adelaide has definitely been the hardest one yet, as adorable as she is.'

Baby Adelaide has been suffering from reflux, which has taken up a lot of Carrie's time and energy.

The Channel 10 star also joked that her friend Chrissie Swan was a 'liar' for telling her that the 'third child is the easiest'.

Carrie and longtime partner Chris Walker have two children together: six-month-old Adelaide and four-year-old Evie.

She also has an 11-year-old son, Oliver, from her marriage to Greg Lange, who died of brain cancer in December 2010.

The mother-of-three's return The Project coincides with the show's tenth anniversary.

She is the only remaining original presenter, having joined the show in 2009 alongside Charlie Pickering and Dave Hughes, who have both since departed.
